Pillar 1: Enhancing Support for USAFA Cadets Facing Serious Medical Diagnoses
Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy commit themselves to a rigorous path of service, academic excellence, and physical endurance. Riley faced a multitude of challenges when he was given a life-altering medical diagnosis, as the demands at the Academy can become overwhelming - physically, mentally, and emotionally. We will use the lessons learned to help cadets like Riley feel supported by the Academy family.
The Sent to Live Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the safety net for these cadets by:
Partnering with Academy agencies to create a pathway for connectedness from USAFA cadets to a geographically separated classmate (Care Packages and Travel Funds)
Engaging in collaborative efforts to provide emotional and practical support to cadets and their families facing the harsh reality of a serious medical diagnosis
Assist in developing a streamlined pathway for re-integration to cadets with serious diagnoses who return to the Academy
Through this pillar, the Foundation aims to ensure that every cadet facing illness is met with understanding, coordination, and unwavering support.
