The Sent to Live Logo:
Riley’s Story

The Sent to Live Foundation logo was created to reflect Riley’s life, service, and approach to living every day to the fullest. Each element represents the things that helped write Riley’s story!

The aircraft window represents Riley’s vantage point! Riley cherished his time spent looking out aircraft windows, serving aboard the RC-135, and seeing the world from places few experience. It captures his sense of adventure and his desire to explore the world.

The Aircraft Window

The wing is a direct tribute to Riley’s service in the United States Air Force and his connection to crews of the past. It reflects his pride in his work, his commitment to his crew, and his willingness to shoulder responsibility. The wing also represents steadiness—remaining present and dependable even when circumstances are turbulent. For Riley, service was not just a role, but a way of life.

The landscape below the wing represents the life Riley loved and stayed deeply connected to—home, people, and everyday moments that mattered. The fields honor his love for the peacefulness of the Midwest, especially his great-grandfather’s homestead. The water represents one of his favorite deployment locations: Diego Garcia. This view reminds us that while Riley spent time above the world, his heart remained firmly grounded to life below—to family, friendships, and meaningful connections.

The words Sent to Live capture the essence of Riley’s story. Riley was sent to serve, but more importantly, he was sent to live—with intention, presence, and authenticity. Even in the face of illness, Riley chose to engage fully with life, relationships, and purpose. The name reflects the belief that Riley’s life was not defined by what he lost, but by how deeply he lived.

The word “Sent” honors one of the missions he loved: Combat Sent. As a young Airman, this plane afforded him the ability to engage in high-profile missions!
