The Sent to Live Logo:
Riley’s Story
The Sent to Live Foundation Logo was created to reflect Riley’s life, service and approach to living every day to the fullest. Each element represents the things that helped write Riley’s story!

Riley cherished every moment he spent looking out the window of the RJ aircraft! He was able to see the world in places few get to visit! The window reminds us of Riley’s sense of adventure and his desire to explore the world!

The wing is a tribute to Riley’s service in the United States Air Force and his connection to the crews of the past. Riley grew up in the footsteps of the 100th Bomb Group at Thorpe Abbotts, England. He found family in his squadron (and their mission) at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Riley was proud of his work and his commitment to his crew!

Riley was deeply connected to the places where he found peace and calm. He loved home, people and everyday moments that mattered. The fields honor his love for the Midwest, especially his great-grandparents’ homestead. During his most difficult days, he would drive his beloved Ranger truck to the farm and sit alone to find the strength to carry on. The ocean waves represent one of his favorite deployment locations: Diego Garcia. He was known to ask people, “Ever been to Diego?” as a conversation starter!

The name of the foundation captures the essence of Riley’s story. One of Riley’s favorite missions was Combat Sent. He would talk often about “being Sent”. As a young airman, this mission allowed him to engage in high-profile missions. When life challenged him, Riley found a new meaning in the thought of being sent. He was sent to serve…to be an example to others of how to face life challenges…to live a simply elegant life, inviting others to live with intention, presence, and authenticity. Riley’s life was not defined by what he lost, but by how deeply he lived.
